It is with heavy hearts that we must bid farewell to two of our stalwart volunteers. Barbara Terry and Dora James have both served the Wisbech & District Talking Newspaper for over a decade and with Barbara deciding to sell her house to move closer to her family, they feel it is time to move on. Alas, Dora relies on Barbara for transportation to and from the recordings, so she has had to announce her departure as well.
Barbara joined the group in 1995 and took up the position as the group’s secretary shortly after that. We wish her all the best in her house move. Isobelle Shippey has agreed to take up the role as secretary as of late 2012 and will now be the group’s contactee.
Dora joined the group as a reader in 1999 and has given 14 solid years as a reliable reader and a firm favourite among listeners. We will be sad to see her leave but, as she will still be living in the local area, it is hoped that she will still be able to attend the AGM and Summer Social evenings.
We would like to give our thanks and appreciation to both Barbara and Dora for their years of voluntary service, we will be sad to see them go.
